MD, DMSc, Professor, Deputy Director for research, organizational, and methodological work at the Polenov Russian Research Institute of Neurosurgery – a branch of the Almazov Medical Research Center, Ministry of Health of Russia.
Dr. Kondakov has predominantly studied traumatic brain injury and developed treatment strategy for it. His DMSc thesis was entitled ‘Diagnosis and differential tactics of surgical interventions for severe traumatic brain injury’ (1993). He has coauthored 100 research articles.
Dr. Kondakov is a Laureate of the State Award of the Russian Federation for a series of articles ‘Acute intracranial hemorrhages: pathogenesis, development and implementation of new technologies in diagnosis and surgical treatment’ (2003). He has coauthored 3 clinical guidelines, several large bibliographies, 10 guidance manuals and training manuals for doctors and students; he owns 9 certificates of authorship for inventions and patents. Ten theses were successfully defended under his supervision.
