Pavel Andreevich Genov

PhD, DSc, European Diploma in Pain Medicine (EDPM), head of the Pain Management Department at the Moscow City Hospital No. 52. President of Association of Interventional Pain Management (AIMP), member of the Pain Management Committee of the Federation of Anesthesiologists.

In 2007, successfully defended his PhD thesis “Cerebral protection methods against ischemia during cerebral aneurism rupture surgery.” In 2019, successfully defended his DSc dissertation “Prevention and treatment of pain in the perioperative period in patients with spinal injuries and diseases.”

Author of 113 scientific publications including 2 scientific theses, 9 chapters in monographs, 42 articles in journals, and 57 abstracts. Editor of the “Atlas of the interventional pain procedures” and “Treatment of a patient with chronic pain: Doctor’s pocket reference”. Made more than 100 presentations at national and international conferences.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

President of Association of interventional pain management (AIMP) (since 12/2020) and one of the board directors of National neuromodulation society in Russia (NNSR) – Chapter of International Neuromodulation Society (INS). In 2022, became a member of the Pain Management Committee of the Federation of Anesthesiologists.

Organizes and supervises educational programs for nurses, residents and physicians. consisting of lectures, journal clubs, hands-on teaching sessions and workshops. Headed organization committees of conferences with international participation on the problems of chronic pain management (international congresses and workshops) between 2015 and 2026. Co-founder of the School of Pain Treatment of the Association of interventional pain management (AIMP) (https://interpain.ru/training/).

EDITORIAL WORK:

Since 2019 – staff reviewer for the Korean Journal of Pain; since 2024 – member of the editorial board of the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management journal; since 2026 – member of the editorial board of the Neurosurgery journal.

AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST:

  1. Treatment and prevention of different chronic pain syndromes;
  2. Organization of Pain Clinics;
  3. Interventional methods of pain management with X-ray and ultrasound navigation;
  4. Neuromodulation.
