<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The main reason for low back pain in 15-30% of clinical cases is the pathology of sacroiliac joint (SIJ) instead of degenerative vertebral diseases. The majority of neurosurgeons deeply involved in the treatment of spinal and vertebral pathology are quite unfamiliar with this pathology. This literature review enlights the diagnostics, signs and principles of treatment for SIJ lesions. The main accent is made on clinical usage of radiofrequency denervation of SIJ, because this technique is hardly used in Russian Federation.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>крестцово-подвздошное сочленение (КПС)</kwd><kwd>денервация</kwd><kwd>радиочастотная деструкция</kwd><kwd>sacroiliac joint (SIJ)</kwd><kwd>denervation</kwd><kwd>radiofrequency destruction</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Bradley K.C.
